Magdala House’s Unhoused and Emergency Shelter Programs support residents in their journey toward becoming thriving members of society. While providing shelter is crucial, the ultimate objective is to empower individuals toward self-sufficiency.
To achieve this, Magdala House has dedicated Occupational Therapists on-site to assist residents in acquiring essential life skills like personal hygiene and cleanliness, which aids in preventing a return to homelessness.
During a recent session, the Occupational Therapist led a community-building activity with the residents. They discussed what makes a community and how to create and find one. They then worked together to write uplifting messages and attached them to sweet treats to share with fellow tenants and staff, spreading happiness and strengthening connections at Jefferson Spaces (Tiny Homes).
If you know someone needing more than just shelter but also a place that can equip them with the skills to achieve self-sufficiency, please reach out at 314-612-1646 to discover how Magdala House can offer support.
