Barber Dez from J’s Studio in downtown St. Louis provided complimentary haircuts to the residents of Biddle House Opportunity Center, thanks to his friend and Biddle House Case Manager, Ashley Johnson. Ashley organized the haircuts to inspire the residents and boost their morale. “I thought the haircuts would be great for our residents to help with self-esteem or to look presentable for a job interview. I also thought about what I would want in this situation,” Ashley explained.
Dez arranged his barber kit, a comfortable chair, and a barber cape for the men at Biddle House. The men eagerly signed up and patiently waited for their turn, requesting linings, trimming, beard grooming, and specialized haircuts such as fades. Thanks to Dez and Ashley’s thoughtful efforts. The experience left the residents feeling refreshed, renewed and confident!
