With the holiday season fast approaching, many people are thinking about ways to give back. Whether you’ve given your time or charitable donations, there’s often a strong desire to impact the lives of others in a positive way.
At Magdala, we are grateful for the generosity of those who have chosen to support our mission of serving the socially and intellectually disabled and homeless adults. Our clients’ lives are significantly improved by your contributions. Whether you’ve given items of clothing, hygiene products, or monetary donations, your support shows our residents and clients that others care about their well-being.
Your giving spirit also inspires our staff. We are a team of compassionate and thoughtful professionals who go above and beyond to build meaningful relationships with those we serve. As part of our Unhoused and Homeless Adults Programs, our staff is in constant contact with our graduates to ensure they are maximizing the services our case managers have provided them to succeed. The staff of our Intellectual and Developmental Programs engages clients in creative projects and physical activities to improve their cognitive and motor abilities.
We celebrate the holiday season together every year, with volunteers and staff preparing and serving a hearty Thanksgiving day meal! It has been a pleasure partnering with InExcelsis for the third year in a row to provide Thanksgiving dinners to our unhoused clients at Tiny Homes, Sisters Mission and now, Biddle House. Thank you to Little House, Helping Hands, and Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church for the Thanksgiving dinners at Biddle House. We also send our sincerest gratitude to barber Dez Dolphy of J’s Studio for providing “holiday haircuts” to the men at Biddle House. And, thank you to HDIS Careers for organizing Sisters Mission’s clothing donation closet. The holidays can be a challenging time for some, and your generosity helps make the season brighter.
To our staff, donors and volunteers thank you for all you do and the difference you make. Have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving.
